Silja-Marie Kentsdottir is a self-employed filmmaker who became obsessed with painting mountains and right now there seems to be no end to this mania.

Her paintings are a mix of various color combinations, aiming for an harmonical feeling. The goal for each painting is to be able to take on a room by itself, just as it is. Silja-Marie lives in Stockholm but is mainly inspired by her childhood home northern Iceland, whose mountains she misses everyday.

 

She wants to present an atmosphere of calmness in her paintings - just as the Icelandic mountains speak to her. "Mountains are often portrayed as a bit overpowering and almost threatening. I find them calming to look at. I simply paint them less macho”
